The Association for German Script and Language has turned 100!
The Association for the German Script and Language (BfdS) was originally founded in 1918 under the name „Bund für deutsche Schrift” (Association for German Script) and was forced to dissolve in 1941. Since its reconstitution in 1951 it has continued its work for more than 60 years.
Since 1999, the BfdS has been working together with other language associations of the German-speaking world as part of the German Language Network – People for the Conservation of the Linguistic Diversity in Europe (′Netzwerk Deutsche Sprache – Bürger für die Erhaltung der sprachlichen Vielfalt Europas′).
